Review of The New Conservatory Restaurant in Leeds

The New Conservatory Restaurant in Leeds

Located in the heart of the bustling city centre, The New Conservatory Restaurant in Leeds is an oasis for those needing a welcome time out. Within walking distance of Trinity Shopping Centre as well as many other areas of interest, this venue is perfect for an afternoon break or chilled-out evening meal. It also serves afternoon tea and coffee for those on the search for tasty, light-bites. Although specializing in European cuisine, there are a wide variety of dishes available including classic Tex-Mex dishes. Head Chef Michelle Hudson has certainly created an innovative menu with loads of delicacies to choose from.

The majority of ingredients are sourced locally with as much being used from Kirkgate Market as possible. Every dish has been carefully crafted and prepared to ensure maximum flavour. Starters range from Thai fish cakes, deep-fried goats cheese with red onion marmalade, moules mariniere, Spanish tortilla and beef chilli nachos. As you would expect from European restaurants in Leeds hearty meat dishes feature strongly. Guests can choose from delights such as 10oz sirloin steak, hearty homemade pie, 10oz gammon and egg and local ‘bangers and mash.’ Pasta is also on offer with tasty choices of beef lasagna and spinach and ricotta cannelloni. If burgers and hot dogs are what you are after than get ready to tuck into prime steak, breaded chicken or a vegetarian bean burger all served with skinny fries and a homemade burger dip.

Diners in the mood to share can opt for several platters including a Greek mezze platter, continental tapas platter, Mexican platter and Myer’s of Kirkgate fish platter featuring tempura prawns, Thai fish cakes, breaded scampi and mussels with chilli dip and homemade tartar sauce. Health conscious diners can indulge in a spiced butternut squash salad or blackened Cajun salmon salad. Nibbles are usually a tempting feature of many restaurants in Leeds, and at The New Conservatory diners can chow down on skinny fries, chunky chips, nachos and dips, giant beer battered onion rings and summer salad. With a fabulous children’s menu, early bird menu and selection of sandwiches and light bites, The New Conservatory has something for everyone
